Love is in the air…brush.
I’m loving The Luminess Air Legend Airbrush System for my over-40 skin.
Basically, this system is an air compressor, small enough to fit in the palm of my hand, that pumps air through a stylus. My starter kit came with primer, two foundation shades, blush, and highlighter. Simply add a few drops of makeup to the funnel-shaped cup on the stylus, pull the trigger, and a magical mist of makeup sprays from the stylus.
The makeup is oil-free, hypoallergenic, mineral-based, and similar to the consistency of water.
With consistency similar to water, this foundation feels light while still delivering excellent coverage.
I was expecting the makeup to look and feel heavy on my over-40 skin. I hardly knew I was wearing makeup.
Why Luminess Air Is Perfect For Over-40 Skin
• It doesn’t look heavy, dry, or cakey — all very bad looks for mature skin
• The light formula does not compromise on coverage. And YOU control the coverage. Use as little or as much as you like, it’s buildable.
• The makeup lasts all day and stays put. It doesn’t slide around or gather in wrinkles to accentuate them.
• The blush is the most natural, healthy flush I’ve ever seen on my cheeks. Better than powders, creams, or tints. Blush that makes you look “lit from within” creates a more youthful look.
• Luminess Air Skin Brightening Glow is a gorgeous highlighter. Two drops of this is perfect for adding highlight to my cheekbones, or anywhere I want to add light to my face. Because it is subtle, not over the top glitter, this does not accentuate wrinkles.
What I Learned
To air is human. Expect some trial and error as you learn to use the system. I recommend you play with it a few times and learn how it works best for you. Get to know each other. My kit came with a short, instructional DVD and there are plenty of tutorials on the Luminess Air website. It’s really easy once you get the hang of it.
Things I learned through trial and error. This is how the system works best for me.
• I apply the blush BEFORE the foundation. I just spray a little foundation over the blush to soften it. This really gives you that “lit from within” look.
• I only needed 3-4 drops of the blush. It’s pretty powerful stuff. I found that if I sprayed it on and WAITED a minute, the color showed up at it’s strongest.
• Here’s the order of application that worked best for me.
(* indicates Luminess Air products)
*Primer, concealer for dark circles, *blush, *foundation, lipstick, *highlighter, eye makeup
• My regular bronzer & concealer (not by Luminess Air) last longer when I’m wearing Luminess Air primer & foundation.
• Luminess Air offers different finishes of foundation: Silk, Ultra, Satin, and Matte. I selected Satin Finish after reading the description, “Great for dry skin types; hydrating skin for a dewy and supple look,” and it worked well for me. It’s a very natural finish.
I am in love with Luminess Air Airbrush System.
I’ve found Mister Right.
