Now, I’m not going to lie. I have had some bad makeovers, when I ended up with colors or products that didn’t suit me at all. But good or bad, here’s why over-40 makeovers are a fantastic thing to do for yourself…

- It is Me Time — A chunk of time you are forced to focus on taking a break and doing something nice for yourself.
- You will try new colors. Like em or not, you will try them. And maybe find a color you never knew was flattering on you.

At my makeover, the makeup artist picked products she thought would work well for me, then highlighted and contoured away – something I rarely try. After all was said and done, there were a few NEW items I couldn’t leave the store without.

I think matte lips can be aging, so I shine-up any stain or lipstick with a light pink or sheer gloss. And if it can plump, too, ALL THE BETTER. Lips thin with age and a plump pout is a sign of youth.
