“The Lowdown on the Uptown Girl” –
Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Review
Don’t you feel like you’ve known Christie Brinkley your whole life? She’s just always been around…and somehow, she seems to look the same as she did when she passed Chevy Chase in her red convertible.
The Uptown Girl is 62, as of this post, and she looks AMAZING! Naturally I assumed she’d had quite a bit of plastic surgery. I Googled it. Surprisingly, Christie Brinkley has been very open about trying Botox (which she didn’t like), lasers, and fillers.
I applaud women who are honest about having had cosmetic procedures. If a celebrity is going to promote a skincare line, I prefer them to be honest about the “other things” they have done.
Shoutout to Christie Brinkley for her honesty. Yes, she’s had “help”, BUT a girl’s got to have a solid skincare routine to maintain what Christie has going on.
Christie credits a healthy diet, exercise, and her Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Line for giving her glowing, seemingly ageless, skin. I tried all the products in the line except the night cream. Let’s get to it.
Complete Clarity Daily Face Exfoliator and Polish
This creamy scrub uses lactic acid beads for exfoliating skin and helping speed up cell turnover. The scrubby beads are very fine, so the scrub is pretty gentle. Scrubs in general are a little hard on my skin anymore, so I don’t like to use one on a daily basis, as is recommended (before evening cleansing). I ended up using this about 2-3 times a week, and using my chemical exfoliant (non-scrubby) on most days. If you like scrubs, and your skin can tolerate them well, this is a gentle one. It also contains salicylic acid, another exfoliant, so it’s a one-two-punch.
Complete Clarity Facial Cleanser
I like the soft scent of this pearly, gel cleanser. There’s no dry, tight feeling after cleansing. I used this every morning and evening. I’d recommend it as a gentle, moisturizing cleanser. The description says your skin will feel “calmed and soothed,” and I’d agree with that. As a cleanser and makeup remover, I give it a thumbs up.
Refocus Eye + IR Defense™
This serum contains Christie Brinkley’s signature ingredient: Bio-Copper Complex™ – which aids in collagen production – plus anti-oxidant protection to help rejuvenate skin. Applied morning and evening, Refocus Eye helps to firm and smooth skin under and around the eye area. All those things we hate about skin in the eye area, this is designed to help improve: Dark circles, crepey skin, wrinkles firmness, and elasticity.
As eye serums go, this one is not bad. I like the dropper applicator and it feels very moisturizing on the eye area. It wears well under makeup, no pilling, which is important to me. If I can’t wear an eye cream under makeup, I end up not wearing it.

According to the directions, “After moisturizing apply with circular motion onto targeted areas. Press and set for up to 2 minutes.” I did that, and I could actually feel my skin tightening up after application. More importantly, I could see it!
No, this won’t erase every last eye wrinkle, but it’s a great quick fix before going out. Firm up sags, soften lines, and enjoy the effects for a few hours. With regular use, this can also aid in collagen production, which increases firmness. But I have to say, the instant results were the big sell for me.
Recapture 360 + IR Defense™ Anti-Aging Cream (Day)
With SPF 30, this daytime moisturizer gives you protection from UVA/UVB rays PLUS, “It’s one of the first creams in the U.S. to defend against Infrared radiation (IR-A rays), which make up 54% of the sun’s rays that reach the earth.”
I like all that, but sun protection has to be functional for me to wear it, and this one is. It’s lightweight and you don’t need much for your skin to feel moisturized. It wears well under makeup, it’s not greasy, and it’s light enough that it doesn’t cause breakouts for me. Besides the anti-aging benefits of SPF, it has the signature Bio-Copper Complex™ for strengthening collagen.
There’s the lowdown on what the Uptown Girl has been using on her face these days. For me, the most unique product, and most visibly effective, was the Close Up Eye Cream. It firms up the eye area and gives you an instantly more refreshed look,
