“Irreplaceable” : My Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder Review
I had used Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for so many years that I had forgotten how special it is. I took it for granted. One day, I ran out of it. So I pulled another powder from my drawer to take its place. Big mistake.
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder sets concealer around eyes LIKE NOTHING ELSE. It is the best.
You can find this powder on Amazon.
PROBLEM
I cover the ever-darkening circles around my eyes with concealer. To hold that concealer in place, and keep it from creasing up in wrinkles, I top it with powder. When I tried using other powders, I got a caked up look. Even worse, if I used a powder with any hint of color, it looked orange-ish within hours. Some powders were even DRYING, something I DO NOT need around my eyes.
SOLUTION
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder solves everything. I use such a tiny amount on a little, fluffy brush that this stuff lasts a LOOOOOng time. That’s how I ran out of it, I am used to it always being there and I just didn’t pay attention.
Here’s what it does:
- Sets concealer around eyes so it won’t move around and crease up
- Brightens the eye area. It does not give you white raccoon eyes. It is subtle
- Subtle light reflective properties are just flattering
- NO cakey look. No additional color that could change the color of your concealer.
Is it worth it to buy this ONE powder for doing this ONE job? YES. Especially if you’re over 40 and you’re seeing more lines around the eyes and darker circles than ever. I can tell you I won’t be taking it for granted ever again. There is no substitute.
I keep going back and forth about buying this powder.. I know that so many people rave about this product.. I struggle with keeping my under eyes from creasing after a couple of hours of wearing makeup.. i’m defo gonna have to pick it up to see how it fairs

Hi Veronica,
You can try going to Sephora and asking them to make you a sample. They have little plastic containers they make samples in, and they try to give samples whenever possible. That way you could give it a try and see if it’s for you before you buy. I hope you like it!
I haven’t tried this but I sound like the perfect candidate for it! Thanks for the review x
Hi there! Sephora will make a sample for you if they can. It’s worth asking about. I hope you like it!
