Madison Reed Hair Gloss Review – “Gloss Like A Boss”
The two weeks before my hair color appointment feel like an eternity.
My roots are showing, my color and shine have faded.
I’m dying to dye.
Flat, dull hair is aging. So when Madison Reed asked me to try their Color Reviving Hair Gloss, I said YES. Honestly, I thought it was a spray or a leave-in conditioner – just another product that added shine.
Wrong. This is no shine spray.
This gloss actually ADDS a sheer TINT that enhances your colored hair and adds SHINE. It revives color-treated hair by restoring faded tones.
I don’t mess around with my hair color myself. Ever. So, the rubber gloves it came with looked like serious business to me. I was nervous. So I tested it out on a small section of my hair to see what happened. All was good so I did my whole head.
EASY APPLICATION
1. For good measure, put on a shirt you don’t care about or drape an old towel over your shoulders in case of drips. I dripped some on my white tee and it washed right out. But better safe than sorry.
2. Put on your rubber gloves. Squeeze some gloss from the tube. Each tube contains two applications, based on shoulder-length hair. So for my hair, I used 1/2 the tube for one application.
3. Apply directly to dry hair (NO MIXING NEEDED), I started at the roots and worked down through the tips. I also used a wide-tooth comb on certain parts to even out the distribution of the gloss.
4. Wait 20-35 minutes, rinse it out, and wash your hair like normal.
The effects of the gloss last about 2-4 weeks.
I loved my results. I abuse my hair in the summer. My color fades from sun, swimming, and frequent washing. This gloss delivered refreshed shine and restored the more golden tones that had faded. My hair looked healthier! It doesn’t address roots, but it makes these weeks before the salon SO much easier to take!
I am truly impressed.
My shade match is Prosecco. You can find yours on the Madison Reed site. With so many shades, and even a clear gloss that’s great for gray, you’ll find your perfect match. If you have questions, the site has an option to chat with a colorist.
I HIGHLY recommend checking out their site to see their other products. There’s an easy-application powder (I’ve tried it) that hides roots. GENIUS. Learn more about how they have taken out harsh ingredients like ammonia, resorcinol, and parabens. Look for argan oil, keratin, and ginseng root in their lists of ingredients.
If I can use this gloss, anyone can. It’s easy, affordable and gives beautiful results.
Thanks to Madison Reed,
