When I was young, I wanted my cleanser to literally strip all the oils from my face.  I used harsh cleansers to make sure my face lacked any trace of oil that could give me a break out. Times have changed…and so has my skin.  My skincare routine had to change, too!

Today, now in my forties, my skin is making WAY less oil than it used to.  So when cleansing, my main goal is to get the makeup, sweat and everyday grime off my face WITHOUT taking every bit of moisture out of it as well.

I need to keep some of that oil to plump up wrinkles and make my skin glow with health.

Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for all skin types

This cleanser is for face, hands, and body.  There’s no bubbles, no scent, no pretty packaging.  This cleanser delivers results.  without losing valuable moisture.  I like to use it in the morning, if I use a cleanser at all.  I don’t want to start the day by stripping away all the benefits of a good night’s sleep.

There’s no squeaky clean feel after using this cleanser.  You almost feel like you’ve washed your face and moisturized as well. It’s especially great to have around in winter, when skin really dries out.  I love it so much, I will use it as body wash and I shave my legs with it- fending off itchy winter skin.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser for normal to oily skinCetaphil Facial Cleanser

Purity CleanserPurity Made Simple by Philosophy

Everyone should try this product, it comes in a travel size if you want to try before buying a full size.  This creamy, liquid cleanser has a light, clean scent that does not stay with you. It cleans thoroughly without drying you out, and there’s no trace of a residue on your face. You feel clean without that dry, tight-skin feeling.  I’ve tried many cleansers, but I always have a bottle of Purity on my vanity.

If you’re over 40, it might be time to stop using harsh cleansers or just any old soap that’s in your bathroom.
