Makeup Trends Spring 2019 Affordable Makeup To Work The Trends

You know what has gotten me through the boring, cold months of January through March?  Wine, of course.

Also, dreaming of the Spring Makeup Trends 2019.  There are some really fun ones this year!  Of all the trends I’ve been seeing, here are my favorites.

1 • Bold Fuscia and Pink Lips

I love that this trend is happening!  I am ready for a happy, bright lip color and move away from the neutrals that I cling to.   Fuscia and Pink are easier colors for me to wear, as opposed to reds and plums.

2 • Glossy Lips

I have heard that women over 40 should not wear lip gloss because it can easily travel into lip lines.  But I just don’t want to live in a world where I can’t wear lip gloss!  So I wear it anyway, I’m just selective about the products and strategic in my application.

Pixi Lip Lift Max is one of my all-time favorite lip glosses because it is thick!  This is important, because it stays put.  It doesn’t slip and slide into my wrinkles.  I usually use the shade Petal Ice (far left) to top off my lipstick.  There is a little plumping with this as well!

3 • Orange Blush

Living Coral is Pantone’s Color of the year, so it makes sense that we’re seeing an orange cheek on the list of Spring Makeup Trends 2019.  And I for one am thrilled about it!  Coral and orange are so gorgeous on cheeks when skin has a little sun kissed color.  This will definitely be a trend I’ll be carrying over into summer!

4 • Glossy Makeup

Makeup Trends Spring 2019 bring gloss to your face and body, not just your lips.  This is a trend you can go BIG with, adding lots of shimmer everywhere.  Or, if you’re like me, you opt for something more subtle, choosing one shimmery product to wear at a time.  I am eyeing Revlon Glow Gelee and Liquid Gleam Potion from Revlon’s Aura Collection of Spring 2019.

You can use these as highlighters for cheekbones or anywhere you want shimmer.  With summer coming, these would be great on collarbones and shoulders!  Use them to top off cream blush with a little extra glimmer.  The same is true for eyelids!  A touch of this in the center of your lid, or in the inner corners, give an ethereal look!  These are fun to play with and so pretty!

If you want to go BIG with the trend, then explore Aura’s metallic eye liners, opalescent lipsticks and iridescent lip glosses.  Revlon really went all out on the glossy makeup trend.

5 • Bold Colors For Eyes

Take a break from brown, beige, and taupe – the neutrals we all know and love – and embrace BOLD colors on your lids!  If you’re not afraid of color, NYX has vibrant Ultimate Shadow Pallete in Brights.  

While it is beautiful, I know I won’t use all the colors in that palette.  A better fit for me is to buy NYX Hot Single Eye Shadow in a bold color, probably Wild Orchid.  NYX has a ton of shades, so you’re sure to find some you love.

If bright shadow isn’t for you, then how about a colored mascara?   Maybelline’s new Snapscara, named for it’s ability to wash off in a snap, comes in two colors beside black.

And last but not least, liquid liner in bold colors is hot this spring.  Drawing graphic designs around your eyes is very hot, but I won’t be doing that.  What I WILL do is wear purple liner, as it makes my hazel eyes POP!  Purples, wines, and violet-blues are all fabulous options for working this trend if you’re not into neon bright liners.  And I’m really not.
