NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick Review
Silky, light, and mostly nude perfectly describes both lingerie AND NYX Lip Lingerie liquid lipsticks.
But unlike lingerie, the lipsticks will stay on you for a looong time.
It’s winter, so I thought I’d try a matte look again. It’s not my favorite look. I am usually disappointed by cakey, drying formulas that just end up feeling tacky and looking gross after a few hours.
NYX Lip Lingerie really surprised me.
When I saw all the NYX colors together, I immediately thought of Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kit, the one that’s insanely priced and always sold out. If you’ve been thinking of buying Kylie’s Lip Kit, check out NYX Lip Lingerie first. At $7 each, these are a steal.
You can find dupes for many of Kylie’s colors in NYX Lip Lingerie. In my opinion, the NYX formula is just as good as Kylie’s, but Kylie’s line does have a better color selection.
I bought Exotic (the redder one) and Ruffle Trim. Here they are swatched.
WHAT I LOVE
- They feel light on your lips, not thick and cakey.
- They. Don’t. Fade.
- They don’t move around, bleeding into lip lines. This is KEY.
- After the color has dried, add a gloss if you like. You won’t have a matte look, but you will have a color that won’t move and won’t bleed into lip lines. Then you top it with a little shine if you want.
A matte look is more difficult to wear over 40. NYX Lip Lingerie won’t give you that dried down, dry-lip look.
APPLICATION
I apply a little to my lips, starting in the center and working out toward my lip line. I use a lip brush or my fingertip to blend it around. If I use the applicator, I can end up adding a ton of product I don’t need or want. I finish with lip liner. I can stop there and leave the look matte, or I can top it off with a gloss.
This is highly pigmented and it stays put once it’s applied, so start slow. You can always add more.
For me, the lack of brighter colors in the Lip Lingerie line is disappointing. This is strictly a nude color scheme, and that doesn’t always wear well on me. If you can rock nudes, there are plenty of options for you. The liquid lipstick formula, however, I LOVE. And I do love the two colors I selected. Here’s me in Exotic. I’ve cut off the top of my head because my roots were awful.
The creamy colors of NYX Lip Lingerie are practically weightless.

I hope you like it! Save the receipt in case the color is not for you. These colors look so similar, it’s hard to pick jus the right one. But once you find the color, you’ll love it. This stuff lasts!
