We have way more to keep up with, which translate to mean “way more products to buy.” It all adds up! With so much fabulous drugstore makeup and skincare out there, why not save money where you can?
However…
If you’re feeling the need to treat yourself, and you have the cash to burn, I have some suggestions on over 40 foundation and concealer for you. Personally, I wouldn’t splurge on blush, lipstick, or even mascara before foundation & concealer.
The right foundation and concealer can make you glow. Lipstick can’t do that.
Here are the products I save up for because they are worth every single penny.
CHANEL CC CREAM SUPER ACTIVE COMPLETE CORRECTION SPF 50
If you are looking for a super-moisturizing CC Cream with dreamy, dewy coverage, then buy this. CC stands for Color Correction, and this cream delivers it.
This feels like a tinted moisturizer, but it gives way better coverage. I wouldn’t call this full-coverage, but it’s great at correcting redness and evening tone. The result is a healthy, natural, luminous look.
In winter it keeps my skin hydrated and looking radiant. In summer I can use less and achieve a healthy, glowy look. And I love the light, clean scent!
DIORSKIN AIRFLASH SPRAY FOUNDATION
If you’ve read my blog or follow me on social media, then you already know that I love this foundation. I have loved it FOR YEARS. I talk about it a lot, because I love it a lot.
It’s a can of magic.
For an airbrushed look, there’s nothing better. As a foundation, this creates an absolutely flawless finish for me.

But I also use this as the final step in my makeup routine almost every day. First I apply a CC cream or even a cheaper foundationm, then my cream blush and then a little Airflash. I spray a puff or two onto a fluffy foundation brush, and I blend around my whole face, even over the blush.
It creates this veil over the blush and blends everything together to look natural. Is it worth the extra step? YES! No doubt. Since I use it so sparingly most days, I don’t need to buy it often.

Now let’s talk concealers…
TARTE DOUBLE DUTY BEAUTY SHAPE TAPE CONTOUR CONCEALER
This is excellent for covering dark circles without looking too heavy. Lighten up your shadowed eye area and look bright-eyed and awake! It is more crease-resistant than most anything you’ve ever tried.
I also apply it where I have big, giant pores because it smooths them out beautifully. Like on my nose and forehead. It works kind of like spackle 🙂
Sometimes I add a little to my foundation, for when I would like to bump up the coverage. Some people buy this in different shades of light and dark to contour with it!

CLE DE PEAU CONCEALER
A tiny bit of this creamy concealer goes a long way! I’ve had my tube forever. It’s a blogger favorite and it’s always on beauty editors’ “Best Of” lists. And it should be! It always comes through.
I will say that before I apply this, I moisturize my eye area thoroughly. For me, that makes all the difference in application. Once blended, I set the look with a little Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder, another miracle product. And then it’s DONE.
Set it and forget it concealer. I do not re-apply at all.

If I need to refresh my look, like if I notice any creasing, I just use a clean, fluffy eye shadow blush to lightly blend around the area. It moves the product out of creases and that’s really all I need to do. The coverage is that good.
And for covering imperfections, like zits, this is my favorite. Most often I’ll get a little on a pointed concealer brush and dab it onto the offending area. It covers like no other.
I love these, I use these, I recommend these to my friends all the time. So far I haven’t heard any complaints, only glowing reviews. They are pricey, but they do not disappoint.
