I’ve always had trouble believing that natural ingredients are powerful antiagers.  Why do I think I need “the hard stuff” for a product to be effective?

But I’m a true believer in the antiaging benefits of rosehip oil.

Rosehip oil is pressed from the fruit and seeds (pictured above) of certain rose plants, not the rose petals.

This oil hydrates, as most oils do.  But rosehip oil also contains antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids, so it can help diminish dark spots and lessen fine lines.  The antiaging skincare nenefits of rosehip oil are many.

Rosehip oil is high in vitamins A and C.

Vitamin A, or retinol, encourages skin cell turnover. Faster cell turnover means dead skin cells slough off faster, making way for fresher, brighter cells!  That results in a more youthful look.  Vitamin C also aids in cell regeneration, helping lighten dark spots and boosting overall radiance.

Life isn’t always a bed of roses for my skin.  Sometimes, my skin needs a break.  Just some plain, old TLC.  That’s where Rosehip Oil comes in.  It’s extremely gentle, but packs a powerful punch of hydration and anti-agers, naturally.  Hydrated skin is plump so it shows less wrinkles.

Rosehip Oil makes my lashes longer and my brows easier to tame.

Rosehip Oil has literally SAVED my skin — on three separate occasions…

  • I had a bad reaction to a sunscreen and my face was irritated.  Rosehip Oil was the only thing I could put on my face that didn’t irritate it more.  It was soothing.
  • I got too much sun and Rosehip Oil single-handedly brought my fried skin back to life.
  • I had an awful cold and was taking all those cold med’s that dry you out.  My skin was seriously, ridiculously dry.  And my face was just raw from all the Kleenex.  I used this oil several times throughout the day and it just made my whole face feel, and look, better.

How I Use It

My use of rosehip oil depends on the needs of my skin on any given day. Most often I use it around my eyes and mouth, both areas that produce very little oil for me.  Then I top off with my moisturizer.

There are days, especially in winter, when my whole face is thirsty for moisture.  Rosehip oil is that boost of hydration I need.  I’ve used it alone and under moisturizer.  I can even wear a light layer of Rosehip oil under makeup & not look greasy.

But my favorite time to use it is at night, to give my face a rest from retinol. It really soaks in and I wake up feeling soft and my complexion has a glow.

Bottom line: Rosehip Oil is a beauty multi-tasker, an anti-ager, and just great to have on hand for any time your skin needs some TLC.  It keeps its promises.  Rosehips don’t lie.
